This Privacy Policy describes how Mimic Labs LLC ("Mimic," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Mimic mobile application and the website at mimicparenting.com (together, the "Service"). We've tried to write it in plain language. If something is unclear, email privacy@mimicparenting.com and we'll explain.
Mimic Labs LLC is the developer of the Mimic app, a behavioral identity practice for parents. The data controller is Mimic Labs LLC, reachable at privacy@mimicparenting.com.
We use the information described above to:
We process your information on the following legal bases: contract (to provide the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (to keep the Service secure, prevent fraud, and improve it), consent (where we ask you to opt in, e.g., for marketing email), and legal obligation (where law requires us to act).
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information only with the following categories of recipients, and only when necessary:
Mimic is operated from the United States. Your information may be processed and stored in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you understand that your data may be transferred internationally. We use providers that offer appropriate safeguards for international transfers (such as Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable).
We keep your account information and practice content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your practice content within 30 days, except where we are legally required to keep certain records (such as transaction records for tax purposes, which we keep for the period required by law).
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@mimicparenting.com. We respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on certain requests.
California residents: the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") gives you the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the purposes for which we use it, and to whom we disclose it. You also have the right to request deletion and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under the CCPA.
Mimic is intended for parents and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact privacy@mimicparenting.com and we will delete it.
Note: as a parent, you may add photos or videos of your child to the app for use as part of the Mirror practice. That content is yours, stored as part of your private practice, and treated under this policy as your information. We do not analyze, share, or use those images for any purpose beyond providing the feature you used them for.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest where supported by our infrastructure, access controls, and regular reviews. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. If we discover a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.
The Mimic website uses minimal cookies — those needed to make the site work and to measure aggregate traffic. The Mimic mobile app does not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking SDKs. We do not participate in cross-app tracking. Apple's App Tracking Transparency consent is therefore not required for our app.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you (by email or in-app) before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
